Bronze Arts Award achievers use Charanga’s groundbreaking digital Portfolio to evidence their musical accomplishments!

Charanga has successfully piloted its interactive Bronze Arts Award resources for secondary schools in partnership with Waltham Forest Music Service, London.

Congratulations to Rosa and Ben (pictured), who uploaded video, audio and text evidence of their music projects and activities into our digital Bronze Arts Award Portfolio and subsequently achieved their Bronze Arts Award qualifications.

Once set up with an account, learners can access the Portfolio in Yumu, the student area of our online platform. From here, they can access all materials their teacher shares with them, their work and more.

Rosa and Ben used YuStudio, Charanga’s award-winning digital audio workstation (DAW), for their Bronze Arts Award. All Yumu account holders and schools with a Charanga Secondary subscription can access the DAW and the Portfolio by default. Rosa and Ben demonstrated their artistic knowledge and understanding using the DAW, learning new music production and composition skills, and structuring and testing their compositions.

Rosa showcased her creative problem-solving skills by working out how to represent feelings by adding digital music effects to recorded vocal tracks. Ben worked out how to push YuStudio’s kick drum to 3EQ – making it three times louder than it should let you!

Getting started

Teachers in their thousands already use Yumu to support their pupils’ independent music learning. Those who are Arts Award advisers can quickly provide a student with a Portfolio via their individual Yumu account. They can then monitor their progress, safely exchange messages with them, and ultimately sign off the completed Portfolio. Once signed off, a unique shareable web link can be generated for each Portfolio. It’s that straightforward!
