Charanga and Trinity College London/Arts Award announce new partnership

We’re delighted to announce an exciting new UK partnership with Trinity College London supporting young people who want to deepen their engagement with the arts and achieve a national qualification with Arts Award.

Arts Award will provide certification and accreditation opportunities for students engaging with Charanga through their schools and colleges, thereby encouraging them to develop as musicians and music leaders and explore the wider world of music. A special discount will be deducted from the cost of students achieving Arts Award at Discover and Bronze levels.

Charanga will develop bespoke pathways through its curriculum that are mapped to the different levels of Arts Award, providing teachers with a wide range of options and progression routes for the children and young people they teach.

‘Trinity College London is delighted to be working with Charanga on the delivery of Arts Award,’ said Annabel Thomas, Head of Development UK&I Arts at Trinity College London. ‘As a leading music education organisation, Charanga understands how teachers and learners can most effectively (and enjoyably) access musical learning. Through Arts Award, we are excited to provide an accreditation and qualification pathway for these young people. We look forward to seeing the great work Charanga teachers and learners produce for their Arts Award logs and portfolios.’

‘We’re passionate about young people’s music learning and its potential to help them grow up as kind, curious and open-minded people, sensitive and knowledgeable about music and the arts,’ added Mark Burke, Founder and Director of Charanga. ‘This exciting partnership will help to enrich their musical journeys, gain valuable leadership skills and earn qualifications. I’m particularly keen to embed Arts Award into Charanga’s work with community organisations, where I believe it can improve routes into employment for disadvantaged young people.’

We’ll publish more information about the partnership in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please email artsaward@charanga.com if you have any questions.
