Introducing First Notes To First Band

We’ve added a new classroom instrumental programme to the Charanga platform. First Notes To First Band is a collection of interactive resources for all types of beginner instruments – perfect for anyone looking to set up a school band.

The collection takes students from their very first note on their instrument to playing in their first live classroom band or larger ensemble performances.

Adaptable learning pathways

First Notes To First Band consists of four stages, or ‘Acts’. Over the four Acts, adaptable learning pathways are provided for over 25 instruments across brass, percussion, strings and woodwind.

Each pathway allows you to tailor-make your lessons, units and performances. Opportunities are also provided for complementary musical learning and discussion in the classroom beyond just learning the instrument itself.

What’s included?

  • Adaptable resources for over 25 instruments, with Yumu practice packs for the children.
  • Classroom Band pieces to get children playing in their first band.
  • Large ensemble pieces to get the whole school singing and playing together.

Keep an eye on your CPD & Training Centre for guidance and details of local training events to ensure you get the most from the new collection and your Charanga licence.
