Charanga are delighted to be exhibiting and presenting again at the Music and Drama Education Expo 23-24 February 2018 at London Olympia.

With over 80+ CPD sessions, spanning panel debates, Q&A’s, practical workshops and seminars, it’s a chance to learn from award-winning teachers, pedagogues and practitioners. There will be presentations from some of the biggest names in arts education and the wider arts industry including two from Charanga.

On Friday 23rd February from 11.30-12.00pm, Charanga Founder Mark Burke and Joanna Mangona creative lead on the award-winning Musical School programme will be running a workshop in the Rock, Pop & Tech Theatre. Focusing on the latest developments from Charanga’s primary programme Musical School, the workshop will outline how it helps to  support the national curriculum for music. You’ll also see how teachers use simple technology to get their own resources online and how they can share them securely so children can continue learning online at home between lessons. This workshop will benefit instrumental and primary music teachers as well as providing workforce development ideas for music service and hub senior management.

In a separate session on Friday 23rd February at 14.55pm in the Rock, Pop & Tech Theatre, Charanga’s Max Wheeler – author of our secondary programme VIP Studio Sessions – will chair a discussion of the challenges and rewards of bringing together electronic music, rap and a youth orchestra in an education context using ‘Grown: a Grime Opera’.

Network with up to 2,500 of your peers and discover cross-departmental tips and tricks from music and drama colleagues alike.
